Kate Huxley crochet patterns and samples
Scope and Contents
Consists of an album with eleven detailed pen and ink drawings of crochet patterns created by Kate Huxley in 1848 along with approximately 150 crochet and lace samples. The album and three of the samples include descriptive notes about crocheting. A doll's hat, edgings, accessories, and hair pin lace are found among the samples. Printed patterns and instructions for crocheting from the 1930s round out the collection. One was produced by Clark's O.N.T. and others were gathered from French firms.
