Scope and Contents Contains daily entries of debits and credits at a Connecticut general store to be transferred to account books. The manuscript entries, made between July 1801 and April 1802, record purchases of a wide variety of goods, including spices, spoons, kettles, rum, thimbles, meat, knives, ribbon, and stockings. Content Description Daybook for the years 1877-1942 with some gaps, primarily between 1895 and 1915, for a general store and farm in Dover, Delaware possibly owned by R. H. Lewis and later by R. E. Lewis. A frequent customer of the store is Dr. Edward Lewis, along with his wife and daughter. Transactions recorded for the store account include all manner of dry goods as well as cash; the farm account records transactions for supplies and equipment as well as rent, taxes, and similar. Regan Bros. grocery ledger collection

Content Description

This collection contains a customer ledger for the Regan Bros., a grocer in New York in the late 1800s. The ledger is 70 pages with a leather binding. The pages include the month, date of order, item ordered, and price of item. The final page of each month’s entry includes a stamp or signature indicating a completed payment. The items include a variety of meats, vegetables, and fruits.
