Twenty-nine signed receipts for a variety of goods, such as "fifteen Dollars in full for a Mattrass," and "Seven hundred twenty four Dollars 50/100 ... for 100 Kegs of Lard." Includes commodities shipped to Havana, Cuba. At the back of the book are some rough sketches of buildings, evidently done at a much later time as one appears to be a skyscraper.

Scope and Contents Collection consists of 5 out of at least 9 volumes of clippings, drawings, and excerpts kept by Besson in Philadelphia between 1813 and 1857. Collection includes numbered volumes 1, 2, 4, 5, and 9. The firm offered a wide range of products to its customers, including flax, whiskey, salt, window glass, "sundries," potash, decanters, coffee, nails, sets of teaware, shoes, textiles, etc. Other expenses documented include the cost of a carriage from Philadelphia, work at a store in Middletown, and hauling between Middletown and Hummelstown.
