This artificial and still open collection contains printed broadsides, brochures, posters, and other advertising material. Printed processes used include: woodblock printing, engraving, lithography, and photolithography. The majority of the material was produced during the 19th century in New England and the Middle Atlantic states. Content Description
Ledger of Boston shipping merchants William Appleton and Company detailing transactions that took place between 1836 and 1842. Accounts include tea speculation, shipments of goods to New Orleans, Louisiana, and Liverpool Packet Co. shipments to Havana, Cuba. Following the ledger entries, the ledger was used for children's drawings of American Civil War battle maps, as well as used as a scrapbook containing various maps of the United States and material related to American territories.
