Content Description
Notebook kept by London, England appraiser T.C. Devenish. The majority of the appraisals noted are for household goods and furnishings, such as various textiles, furniture, artwork, books, curtains, carpets, mattresses, pillows, silver, peweter, copper, and ceramics. These apparaisals may have been compiled for use in estate inventories.
Of note is the appraisal of the stock in trade of linen draper Francis Vincent, of No. 127 Oxford Street. This appraisal lists various textiles, including buff and buff print, blue and black ditto, pink spot, various plaids, cambric muslin, nankeen, and silk, as well as tablecloths, handkerchiefs, and Irish linen.
