Building materials and labor ledger
Content Description
Ledger recording labor done by various individuals from 1907 to 1908, and various expenses related to labor done and building materials including window and door frames, flooring, shingles, clapboards, mouldings, battens, sashes, lumber, and nails. Projects listed include a masonic building, Lake Tarleton Club and Sunset House in New Hampshire, and Cornell University in New York. It is possible that the ledger belonged to Parker-Young Company, as page 16 of the ledger is labeled "Copy of invoices from Parker-Young Company."
The Parker-Young Company was located in Lisbon, New Hampshire, and specialized in manufacturing lumber, custom mill work, hardwood flooring, butter tubs and boxes, and was also the largest manufacturer of piano sounding boards in the United States. In the late 1920s, the Parker-Young Company was reorganized under the name Lisbon Company.
