Receipt book used by three generations of the Kendall family of New Castle County, Delaware, beginning in 1768. Transactions recorded include the purchase of a winding sheet, ice, and grave digging for the furneral of Jesse Kendall, medicine, various food and dry goods, and goods imported from Jamaica.

Lebanon County, Pennsylvania merchant ledger

Content Description

Ledger of an unknown Lebanon County, Pennsylvania merchant, dated 1791-1794. The ledger details the sale of various goods such as silks and other fabrics, ribbons and threads, rum and spirits, tea, buckwheat, and other consumables, pewter plates, and other various dry good. Several customers were listed as having their "boy" with them, which may be in reference to a Black servant or enslaved person.

Throughout the ledger, various accounts are marked by small slips of paper.
