Scope and Contents
Consists of hundreds of handwritten receipts for money received by a wide variety of suppliers in New York in exchange for raw materials and processed goods for the running of Hull & Bowne's business. Typical entries are "Rec'd New York Augt. 6 1806 ... Ninty one 87/100 Dollars for Camphor"; "Rec'd New York 9 month 21-1807 ... Forty three dollars 50/100 in full for instruments for Dr Cogswell"; and "Received New York 23rd Nov. 1810 ... Sixty nine dollars ... in full for freight of goods from London."
