Scope and Contents

Twenty-nine signed receipts for a variety of goods, such as "fifteen Dollars in full for a Mattrass," and "Seven hundred twenty four Dollars 50/100 ... for 100 Kegs of Lard." Includes commodities shipped to Havana, Cuba. At the back of the book are some rough sketches of buildings, evidently done at a much later time as one appears to be a skyscraper.

Receipt book used by three generations of the Kendall family of New Castle County, Delaware, beginning in 1768. Transactions recorded include the purchase of a winding sheet, ice, and grave digging for the furneral of Jesse Kendall, medicine, various food and dry goods, and goods imported from Jamaica.

Nathaniel Cushing papers

Scope and Contents Papers consist of business letters, orders, invoices, bills, and receipts, and a very few personal letters. One personal item of particular importance is a copy of a 1799 letter to Nathaniel's brother Isaac, in which he tells about his anchor business and gives a little news about the family. Nebraska cattle ranch ledger and receipts

Content Description This collection consists of a ledger and receipts that were kept by the owner of a cattle ranch in Nebraska. Based on the cattle brand embossed into the front cover of the ledger, they were possibly kept by either Edward Ormesher of Valentine, Nebraska or Ezra E. Tucker of Hyannis, Nebraska. There is also a very faint inscription on the front cover of the ledger above the cattle brand that reads "Metzger Bros." This may refer to the Metzger ranch in Merriman, Nebraska.The ledger...

This artificial and still open collection contains receipts for household products and personal goods. Material culture including house furnishings, clothing, pottery, textiles, food, etc. are included. Of the 150 or so items in the collection, over 60% date from the 19th century; the remainder originated from the 18th century.
