Scope and Contents

Contains sketches, preliminary and working stencils for the decoration of furniture, probably by a Pennsylvania German furniture decorator near York, Pennsylvania. Designs include flowers, fruit, birds (including an eagle) and similar stylized motifs. Clearly shows steps from design conception through finished product as collection also includes finished full color samples done on paper with simulated wood grain background. Two of the finished pieces are signed J. F. W. Sleeder on the verso. Includes a stencil for W. W. Wolf.

Physical Description

Loose stencils are placed into Mylar protectors. Most of the stencils have been mounted in an album.
