Scope and Contents Contains 77 negative silhouettes mounted on black backgrounds, all but three of which are identified on a "List of Names" at the beginning of the volume. There are also six leaves of 'Scherenschnitten' pictures; and then eight un-mounted silhouettes (six of which are identified) laid in. These loose silhouettes are now in separate sleeves. Many members of the Coates family are pictured, as are members of the Hornor, Morrison, Evans, Redman, Randolph, Pickering, Hopkins, Snowden, and Yarnall...

Hazen Richardson account book

Scope and Contents Contains accounts of Hazen Richardson, a carpenter and cabinetmaker from Stockbridge, Vermont, with over 65 individuals. Includes such entries as "to trundle Bedstid," "to one Beauro," "to Six Citchin Chairs," "to one Candle Stand." Other than the price, the accounts do not give any information about the furniture, for example the species of wood used. The one exception is a charge for a cherry coffin. William Appleton and Company ledger

Content Description

Ledger of Boston shipping merchants William Appleton and Company detailing transactions that took place between 1836 and 1842. Accounts include tea speculation, shipments of goods to New Orleans, Louisiana, and Liverpool Packet Co. shipments to Havana, Cuba. Following the ledger entries, the ledger was used for children's drawings of American Civil War battle maps, as well as used as a scrapbook containing various maps of the United States and material related to American territories.
